co2balance offers you, as an individual, the ability to calculate your carbon footprint, information on reducing that footprint and also the opportunity of ethically offsetting any unavoidable emissions.

The average US citizen has a carbon footprint of around 20 tons or 40,000 pounds.

co2balance offsets emissions by investing funds in sequestration, energy efficiency or renewable energy projects that absorb or prevent an amount of CO₂ equivalent to your carbon footprint. You are then CarbonZero.

To find out how much CO₂ your lifestyle creates co2balance has created carbon calculators which calculate the amount of CO₂ created by driving, flying, etc.  If you wish, you can offset the calculated emissions by investing in one of our projects.

For the individual, co2balance offers Memberships which include offsetting a certain tonnage of CO₂ emissions through your choice of projects. These Memberships can make ideal gifts for environmentally aware friends and family.
