Some of our CO2balance team recently returned from attending the 2022 IETA Latin American Climate Summit, held at Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
CO2balance are long-time members of the International Emissions Trading Association, regularly

attending their important events and conferences. As we look to explore more project opportunities in the region, the LACS2022 conference was a great opportunity for the team to engage with the local carbon market, regional project developers and other stakeholders.
With the entire Voluntary Carbon Market space awaiting, hopefully important, outcomes from COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh later this week, LACS2022 acted as an important warm up event; with key conversations taking place on the long time future of REDD+ projects in the region, the challenges and roadblocks facing Project Developers working in the continent, as well as the potential opportunities new tech and blockchain can offer the space.

Held in Brazil, the importance of the carbon markets and carbon finance working to directly protect, conserve and also reforest the Amazon, was a key theme discussed. CO2balance is very much active in these discussions and looking to accelerate it’s own role in that conversation. Do consider reaching out to us if you think there is an opportunity for collaboration on this topic.
