New project in Burkina Faso!

We are pleased to announce we have started a new water project in Burkina Faso!

Together with our in country partner, Transform Burkina, we will be rehabilitating around 520 water points over the next 5 years, providing safe water to rural communities. These communities, currently have no other clean water source, and rely on open fires to purify their water. The displacements caused by political instability in neighbouring areas, has only increased the demand for clean water in our target communities – so we are incredibly happy to support this transformative development.

Together with supporting access to water, we will also be reducing CO2 emissions from avoided open fires and halting deforestation activities. We will also have a significant gender impact, as it is often women and children who collect firewood for fuel, and now that time can be invested in other activities.

Transform Burkina officially launched the project last week in Ouagadougou, an event to which many relevant stakeholders assisted, like the governor of the Northern Region. The story was also featured in national news, and is available here.

We are truly inspired and hope to continue driving positive change in Burkina Faso.
